Why this guide exists, where our information comes from, how we keep it current, and the principles that shape how we present it.
Parents deserve clear, respectful, transparent information about vaccines — especially when online information can be confusing, emotional, or contradictory.
My Immunization Guide exists to make Ontario's childhood vaccine guidance easier to understand. Vaccine information online varies widely: some is too technical, some is too vague, and some is designed to alarm rather than inform. At the same time, vaccine schedules and school requirements differ from province to province and country to country, so general information isn't always relevant to families here.
Our goal is to bring accurate, Ontario-specific vaccine information into one clear, well-organized place — using plain language and transparent sourcing — so families can understand the schedule, school requirements, ingredients, side effects, and next steps, and then make informed decisions together with their healthcare provider or local public health unit.
Supporting your autonomy
We aim to inform, not to pressure or shame. Our role is to give you clear information and point you to qualified professionals — the decisions are yours to make with them.
Ontario-specific accuracy
Vaccine programs and school rules vary by province. We focus specifically on Ontario, drawing on provincial sources, so the guidance is relevant to families here.
Transparent sourcing
Every major page cites its sources and shows when it was last reviewed. Ingredient information comes from official Health Canada product monographs, not generalizations.
Privacy by design
We don't collect or store personal health information. Our interactive tools run entirely in your browser, and nothing you enter is saved or sent anywhere.
We prioritize current, reliable Canadian and Ontario sources, in roughly this order:
On numbers and uncertainty
We avoid inventing statistics. When an exact figure isn't available from a reliable source, we use careful wording such as "rare," "uncommon," or "reported rarely," and note that exact frequencies vary by vaccine, product, and source. Where the evidence or recommendations are evolving, we say so.
Vaccine schedules, products, and eligibility can change. Each major page shows a "last reviewed" date and a "next review due" date, so you can see how current the information is. We aim to review content periodically and when significant changes to Ontario's program are announced.
That said, no website can guarantee it perfectly reflects the latest changes at every moment. This is why we consistently encourage families to confirm current details with official Ontario sources or a healthcare provider — and why every page links to the authoritative source.
Editorial review
This website is currently in beta and has not yet completed independent external medical review. Content is based on current Ontario and Canadian public health sources and is reviewed for accuracy on a scheduled basis, with each major page showing its review dates. Families should always confirm advice with a healthcare provider or local public health unit. Full details are on our Editorial Policy and Methodology & Source Review pages.
Conflict of interest
My Immunization Guide is independently operated. It does not accept vaccine manufacturer advertising, sponsorship, affiliate payments, or compensation for vaccine promotion. Any future funding relationships will be disclosed. See our Conflict of Interest & Funding statement for details.
Accuracy matters to us. If you notice something that appears out of date or incorrect, we'd want to know.
Suggest a correction
If you notice a possible error, outdated information, broken link, or unclear wording, please email admin@myhealtheapp.com. Medical or schedule-related corrections are reviewed against current Ontario and Canadian public health sources. See our Correction Policy for how this works.
